We believe that investing in the future of our young people is one of the most important things we can do to support our community for the generations to come.

Learn About Giving Through The Foundation

It started with a dream and $10,000 in startup funding from the United Way of Howard County in 1989. Today, the Community Foundation of Howard County is home to a multitude of funds representing a broad range of donor and community interests. From its incorporation on March 6, 1991, the foundation has grown into the largest single grant-maker in the county. The number and dollar amounts of grants being given in the community continue to grow. Those grants, however, are all the direct or indirect result of a donor's interest in the community. To all of our donors, we say thank you for your generosity.

Our board members graciously give their time as volunteers because they too see the results of investing in Howard County. They work to oversee the stewardship of your donations and stay informed about the needs of our community to ensure that the Foundation is continuing to be a vibrant force for good in Howard County.

We also serve donors in Clinton and Carroll counties through the Clinton County Community Foundation and the Carroll County Community Foundation.
